KODIAK Humanoid Robotics Platform

A humanoid robotics program built around measurable system integration.

KODIAK is Northern Edge's flagship robotics platform, developed to bring mobility, sensing, autonomy, interaction, safety, and connected intelligence into a coherent humanoid system.

Mobility

Motion and control

Simulation-driven development of movement, control strategies, balance, and repeatable task behavior.

Perception

Sensing and environment awareness

Sensor integration and perception workflows intended to support navigation, interaction, and operational awareness.

Autonomy

Decision and task execution

Software architecture for planning, task logic, connected telemetry, and progressively more autonomous behavior.

Interaction

Human-robot interface

Development of understandable, useful interaction patterns between people and a general-purpose robotic platform.

Safety

Validation and operating limits

Testing designed to establish what the system can do, where it can operate, and how it behaves under failure or uncertainty.

Connectivity

Telemetry and remote insight

Connected data flows for engineering visibility, diagnostics, system health, and future fleet-level learning.

Current development approach

Simulation first. Hardware with purpose.

KODIAK development currently uses simulation to mature architecture and testing workflows before expensive hardware iteration.

MuJoCo is part of the current simulation workflow, with an NVIDIA Isaac Sim environment also prepared for higher-fidelity robotics work when suitable compute is available.
